About MAMA

Hajah Nurlina bte Haji Alawi, known as Mama was born in Kluang, Johor on 19Dec 1971. Since childhood he was brought up with religious teachings, values,appreciate people with disabilities, and likes to help people living in hardship.
17 Mac 2004 is a date PERNIM was officially established after the registration is approved by: Registration of Society (ROS).Mama bestow affection for children who are less fortunate. not to worship, not to applaud but simply be an example to us. invites us to contemplate with, that the happiness of life is not merely to property, not on money.This courageous woman did not search for publicity, do not collect attention. He did sincere intuitive sense, share the love of a mother, the children who do not haveanything.

Mama struggles to safeguard children's HIV / AIDS patients have received the attention of national leaders and news media coverage. In appreciation of his services, severalawards were given to Hajah Nurlina as follows:

Exhibition reflection(project done)

finally the project is finish:
after around 3 mount effort finally on 20 April after finishing exhibition our mission is finish but thank god we do our job very well.on this project every one of us working with our heart and our power.
anything we done well is because we love this work,this kids.and this feeling to be with them

3)we design the exhibition area like kindergarten to remind our audience about the kids

on the same day we have bachelor exhibition and open day thats why the university was so crowded and we have many visitor as like the lecturer,dean(dr raja),dean assistant,deputy president............
because of the decoration every body attract to come and see us,write for us and donate.

REFLECTION BY AHMAD ZAKI

First of all thanks to my group members because of gave good respond and very helpful. In this charity project, I learnt so many things that were very important and helpful. 
From the first visit at the PERNIM house I met mama, she is very strong and independent women. then i see how these kids do their work. then we have been invited to go "kenduri tahlil". This event is organized for one of adopted child past away. For the second visit, we do learning activity for these kids. Starting doing this project and my group members feel very disappointed because all kids never listen and pay attention to us. And for the last visit we also do the same activity and those kids gave us a good respond.
What can i say for the reflection, there are many people out there need help from us to live in this world. Sometime, they cannot get what was they want. For me after doing this project, I learn how to respect people without see their level and be more helpful. From this project also my confident level became higher, I dont feel shy and more serious when do some work. Before this project , I am too shy to speak English because I think my English very poor but when do this project, I learn how to be more confident to speak English because one of my group member is from Iran. I wish this project will be continuing for the next semester because it can help people and for students they can learn how to do some good thing. And for mama keep up with your good work and never give up.  

REFLECTION BY NASRUL

During this semester Jan 2011, Professional Communication 1 subject have given a task to do Charity work to any community. My group has chosen to do charity activity at Pusat Perlindungan Nurul Iman (PERNIM). PERNIM is basically like a house that takes a orphanage and AIDS children to be take care. The founder of PERNIM is Pn Hajah Norlina Alawi was a very kind and special person that willing to take care of all the orphanage and AIDS children and adopted all the children.

While doing this charity activity, I realize that there are so many people need our helps. It makes a new sight of direction to my vision in the future. We should think and alert to our community that need our helps.

At PERNIM I realize that family is a more important and they are so independent. This is because they can take care of their self and can manage their self. These things have made my mind change about my self esteem. I realize that we should think more about others people feeling and willing to give and donate anything that you can give.

During to complete this project team work is very important and our communication is important because we deal with others people. This will improve my communication skills and can be more confident to cooperate with others people.

Our task is give English basic education to the PERNIM children and to complete this task we need to make a research how to give a good English education. We discover that method to educate children is attract them with interactive video but important input.

As a conclusion my reflection on this charity work is we as a living person should know how to give some helps to other person. This charity work also have influence me to take part with any others corporate social responsibility in the future.

REFLECTION BY INTAN

The reflection that I got from CSR project is the knowledge that I gain and the very important thing is the moral of humanity. To threat the kids, we must have a good enough skill, how to treat them, understand their needs and the most important thing is understand their feel.  This is the moral value that we can’t find at another place.

At Pernim, we thought the kids about education in English such as Quiz in Power point, Games, colorings contest and other. From that lesson, the kids have something that they gain also, benefit to us to improve our English skill.

Team WORK!!! to make this project success and follow the entire plan that we make. We must have  a good teamwork with all the groups of member. With the huge spirit.it totally can make our programme successful and good.

The activity that we had such as spelling bee, the kids try to spell the word that we gave to them. From that, we know the kids love to learn and they still try to spell even though the word that they gave is wrong.

For me, I got many advantage when I do this project. One of them is communication in English and how to spoke in front of public and interact with other people beside my colleagues and lecturer. From that we know there is more challenging way that we must face it in outside world. At the end it is very hard for us to say goodbye. we have many good time with the even sometimes is hard and makes us tired but anyway we love them miss  and remember them all the time of our life and the Pernim kids you should know that you are loved.

REFLECTION BY NEDA

We reach there around 10 pm .Our activity start with show them English slide include the      (places,career,special job) we read for them and they repeat after us. Then we have one game that they should find ball that improve their mind to thinking an guessing .Then we have story telling with play for them, this time our relation is much better they are not shy they try to be involve the program especially the kids above 7 years old.

They play for us by dull. They use English word. Then we have test. It is incredible all of them ask about paper test it shows their avidity .Most of them they are smart they can finish it soon ,we really enjoy to see their aspire. The children below 7 they try coloring we ask them tell us the color of each pencil that they use.most of them cooperate but the smaller not much.

Sometimes the fight,cry and,run away, but anyway we can handle it. After that 7 above they try to make logo, they done it very well I don't expected they can do like this. The kids below 7 they try to write (a,b,c,d to z).But unfortunately they are not cooperate just few them lesson and write English character with singing. After this we give them their gift .they become so happy. This time our relationship is become very well. Their getting close to us, also us can understand them. When is learning time when is play time.We ware sad. Because we know that this is the last time that we meet them like this. But we get a lot of information from them, we learn from them how be passion, how be thank god at any situation.

In this house there is a lot of angle they born by more 1000 ambition I'm sure if we have class with them more than this we can learn them better. We see how they have ability and aspire for learning. It shows after this most of them become very success. The important part for making them avidity is mama. Mama helps them to grow very well. Show them how be thankful. She put inside them love and fillip. At the end it is very hard for us to say goodbye we have many good time with the even sometimes is hard and makes us tired but anyway we love them miss them and remember them all the time of our life and small angles for Pernim you should know that ( you are loved).

REFLECTION BY AISYAH

From the visit, we came to the ‘Rumah Perlindungan anak-anak AIDS dan HIV PERNIM’ to make some activity for them. We make an activity like quizzes, crossword, colouring contest, build word, singing, puppet storytelling and others. From this activity, we make English learning more fun and easy to learn. We also seen that the children enjoy and love to learn English with the fun activity, so, we not to stress the children by push them feel difficult to finish an activity in English.

There are many ways to go about learning English for kids. One can enroll a child into a language school, which will serve two purposes: First, to teach them ideas and concepts common to all children of that age group (where schooling usually begins at age 4 or 5) and second, to teach dedicated English language skills to young children who are non-native English speakers. The benefit of learning English for kids is that when a person is young, they have a much higher rate of foreign language retention than when a person learns a foreign language when they are a bit older. The reason for this is complex, and has to do with the way the human brain processes complex information and saves data in “folders” that can be accessed in the mind. Cognitive psychologists have spent many years studying these ideas and formed basic and advanced theories for delivering language training programs to young people, before the task becomes more complex and difficult for older learners. It is not at all uncommon to see a six year old from another non-English speaking country to be fluent in English, even more than his or her parents, if the parents of the child took the initiative of enrolling him or her into a dedicated English language school for children. Parents need to make this decision for their children, and learning English for kids is one of the best, wisest decisions parents of young children can make.

Those activities that create for the children give more benefits to them and as university student; we must give something for community. This is our contribution for the orphanage even though we not give them money but we share with them our knowledge. From our point of view, an orphan growing up in their dormitories by themselves and they get very little attention from their guardian as they are in large of number. Thus in terms of learning, their proficiency in English is very weak, as a student, we should have attention to contribute in the form of education to the children.

REFLECTION BY ROHAZLIN

Glad to Allah at last we had successfully done the task as we need to complete. Personally I am very glad to be involved by formal or informally in this activity. My charity project at PERNIM is a home for children affected by AIDS/HIV who have been abandoned through parent illness or death. Founded in 2004, this non-profit organization provides shelter, food, schooling, and other necessities for the children.

I had so much fun with the kids there. There are 45 kids, from babies to teenagers. Some are infected by HIV while some are orphan because parents die of HIV but for whatever reason it is, these kids need help and love from the public.

Alhamdulillah , after a few weeks we complete in our charity program which is English based learning. We found that we achieve the objective and mission of our program. We had a wonderful day with the kids and I am sure to say the kids enjoy the day. We had games, writing , video show,  coloring, clowns, storytelling, and singing for all visits. It was amazing to see the joy and energy there. Everyone took care of one little buddy and created love and joy to them. Some of them don’t speak well English, but still able to communicate with one another.

The spelling Bee and storytelling that we have held was make them comfortable with English word. Why our objective is English based learning because I think learning English language as an official language and as a core subject in high schools and colleges with other tertiary institution is effective. And it has helped a lot of people in their mode of communication, interaction, gaining job opportunities and meeting new people around the world. It’s important that children grow up knowing how to speak correctly and improve their language skills.

The important part to achieve the target is teamwork cooperation between group members.Without cooperation all the thing can’t achieve and I’m glad because my group members give full commitment during the task and one more thing I can improved my communication skills when communicate with each other and deals with outsider. Whatever that makes us to support this program will give more advantages and benefit in future to us.

REFLECTION BY ZAHERA

During the live session welfare and learning English with the children in Pernim, many of which I can conclude here I can see a strong teamwork where a group united in our project and our success together in addressing all the problems faced.

The first trip we went through when Mrs. Hajjah Norlina family held "Tahlil" to mark the departure of one of his children who have nothing. During the ceremony was taking place, Puan Hajjah Norlina write your cooperation and good service to us at the same time help us to continue a project that has been given. At the second visit, we do activities in the residence hall Puan Hajjah Norlina official. We started our program with spelling activities and video viewing on children. At first, the children are very difficult to control and not for their cooperation and commitment, as expected, but the spirit does not give up the experts group and the nature of cooperation, the problem can be overcome and that the activities are conducted smoothly.

The third session of the visit was a challenging trip and more give a big impact on the project. Our group members carried out various activities with their children where get extracting and help children learn English education. Activity conducted as to unite the spirit of painting logo children and highlight their natural talents. Besides the spelling bee activities are also a bit of helping the children in language acquisition. We also provide some entertainment by clapping the rhythm where it can strengthen the relationship between us and the children

It can be concluded here that the project is to enhance the welfare of the relationship between the team and expressed his sympathy and compassionate and express to devote to the needed. Besides that, the project is realized we to thank above all the blessings received. This project also led to cooperation and a strong team spirit in every member.

exhibition preparation

       Before the exhibition coming, we design the poster for our group. The exhibition will be the same day with the UNIKL open day. So we are lucky because can open booth on that day. We hope that all IPROMAniaz will coming to our booth and see what we are doing during our Corporate Social Responsibilities project under Professional Communication 1 subject. We also hope that we can collect many of donation from all of Iprom staff and student to give somethinh to our orphanage organization
